Odesa, too, is in Prychornomoria (Black Sea shore, southern Ukraine).  It is a largely industrial region, and much of the population died off during the Great Famine/Holodomor.  The current residents, particularly the city dwellers, were resettled there in the 30s and 40s, and many are non-Ethnic Ukrainian.

Geometric designs and simple patterns predominate, and, as the examples below demonstrate, stylized plant motifs are important. .
