My nieces and nephews have been making them since age four, while their cousins made them for the first time this year.  It was Laurie’s third try, and Marilyn’s first.

My mother, Baba, while exceptionally skilled in embroidery, had never made a pysanka until 2005.  She soon realized that they were much more difficult to make than they seemed, and chose to stick to embroidery.  The final pysanka on this page is the only one she ever made.
