We made pysanky fairly this year, as Easter came very early this year.  The kids had their spring break the week after Easter, and we gathered on that Thursday for our annual pysanka-writing session.  No one made the traditional star egg this year, but Laurie and Kalyna tried some fairly involved designs.  I was glad that Kalyna was taking an interest in the pysanky in Elyjiw’s book, but less thrilled that see left wax marks all over it......

Fuzz had spotted one of my old pysanky at Aunt Susie’s house at Easter; I had photographed it for her, and she recreated that design, origin unknown.  Nick went with a design from my collection of Onyshchuk traditional pysanka design sheets. 

And then they got creative, paying homage to their favorite musical stars of the moment......
