Churches are a very popular motif in pysankarstvo, but seem to be limited to the mountainous west.  Churches of all sorts can be seen on the pysanky of Bukovyna, Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya. Some have rounded domes, other pointed domes, and yet other depict traditional wooden churches. Some are quite realistic, other exceedingly abstracted.
