I had more time for writing pysanky than usual this winter.....my sciatica was bad enough to prevent me from putting up my usual tree or throwing a Christmas party, so I assembled my vintage aluminum tree and spent time on these instead.
I played around with colors, trying out some newer UEC dyes (the fluorescent “Cream Soda” pink and dark blue). The other colors are perennial favorites.
I also tried writing designs on duck eggs; Paul had given me a bunch of duck eggs from his flock, and I wrote him some ornaments. They didn’t make the group photos above, but did get photographed individually. The eggs have a lovely look; the shell is quite smooth and somewhat translucent. They are the first 6 eggs pictured below.
