Finishing Up

You have removed the wax from your pysanka, but it still doesn’t look quite right.  It’s still a bit grimy and dirty.  What is the problem, and what do you do now?

There may still be small amounts of wax that you’ve missed.  You may have gotten soot onto the egg if you used an open flame during the pysanka writing and cleaning process.  Or some of your pencil marking may remain.  What do you do?

The first step is to remove residual wax.  Doing so may also remove soot and pencil marks.

Next you need to deal with any remaining soot.

Lastly, pencil marks need to be dealt with.

The first two are covered on pages in this section:

            Residual Wax

            Soot

Pencil marks are covered in the “Pencil Lines” section on the “Removing” page.
