Pysanky on this plate from the ancient Ukrainian regions of Left Bank Ukraine near the cities of Poltava and Chernihiv (see map here).  Most of the Poltava region lies in the Middle Dnipro region, while the Chernihiv area is split between the Middle Dnipro and Eastern Polissya.
