The pysanka below was written for my niece Maria, who likes butterflies, on the occasion of her 17th birthday.  The design is not mine; my friend and fellow pysankarka So Jeo let me use one of her designs, which I modified a bit (mostly simplifying).  You can see the original here.

It is more complicated than it initially looks,  The butterflies merge into each other, the top wing of one becoming the bottom wing of another.  I love the contrast, the clash of complimentary colors, of orange against and azure sky.
