“Eggates”
In 2008 Mary’s daughter Maddy produced a series of agate-themed eggs. She has collected agates along the Lake Superior shoreline since she was a child, and loves their geometric patterns. In this series of “eggates,” Maddy incorporates agate geometry into pysanka design, using both traditional and drop-pull pysanka techniques.
