Snowflake Pysanky
2014
In 2014 I wrote three goose eggs and several of the smaller eggs, but didn’t get a chance to photograph them all together before it came time to give them away (I blame the indolent cold virus and rainy weather; I photograph the groups outdoors). I chose jewel tone background this year–deep bright coors, without mottling or other effects. Dye adherence depends largely on the eggs themselves; some years they take the colors well, other years they don’t. This year I got lucky......for the most part.
The three goose eggs I wrote, in pink, red, and deeper red, were given away as gifts, and reside in the china cabinets of my mom, my sister-in-law, and my Aunt Susie, hostess of the 2014 Petrusha Family gathering on December 25th.
The chicken egg snowflakes, written on small chicken eggs, are pictured below; the goose eggs are in with other goose eggs.
