Sister Veronica was a Ukrainian Catholic Studdite nun who was taught pysankarstvo by ihumen, Sister Daria.  She later left the religious life, but continued to write pysanky. The basket above is from her book “Pysanky: Herkunft und Bedeutung der ukrainischen Ostereier”  (Pysanky: The Origins and Meaning of Ukrainian Easter Eggs).

The pysanky below are those I have recreated; no further provenance than “Volyn” is given.
