The eggs on in this album remind me of diasporan pysanky in that they preserve some traditional elements of Ukrainian design, but often in a crazy-quilt manner.  Most of them incorporate at least some elements of the Pertykivka style, but with a dash of original material.  Others incorporate some conventions of the black lacquer tradition.

They are what is called in Ukraine “avtors’ka robota” (“artist’s work”), the original vision of the artist creating them, but still attempt to utilize folk motifs and forms.  They are the “folk-rock” of wooden pysanky.

(The pysanky in the photo above are modern floral Hutsul wooden pysanky, and are sold by All Things Ukrainian.)
